If this should happen, the safety lining may crack This means that the helmet has done it's job in protecting the brain, but it may render the helmet unsafe. Unless you are POSITIVE that the helmet you are considering has not been dropped, or stepped on or been involved in a fall, DO NOT USE IT. You can send it back to the manufacturer for an inspection.
