Welcome to Premium Horseback Riding Helmets &
Safety Products!

Dear Parents,

.........To minimize the risk of head injury, most camp directors and riding instructors require that each rider wear a protective helmet when riding a horse.  The American Medical Equestrian Association (AMEA) strongly recommends the use of helmets to minimize or prevent injuries associated with horse riding activities. Helmets used by riders must meet certain standards for retention, chin straps, impact, absorption and penetration tolerances for sharp objects. Our company offers such helmets, each of which bears the seal of the Safety Equipment Institute (SEI)-ASTM. Our Prices are deeply discounted.

An important fact about the use of a helmet....

• Studies from the U.S. Pony club show a drop in the number of horse related head injuries since the ASTM standard was introduced in 1990. The United States Combined Training Association (USCTA) statistics show a drop in the number of head injuries since the
ASTM helmets have become widespread.

NEVER ride without a protective helmet!

Q. Why shouldn't a rider get a used helmet? (USED HELMET WARNING)

A. Be extremely careful if you plan to buy or use a previously owned helmet. They may not provide the protection you or your child need. The purpose of a safety helmet is to absorb the impact of a fall, so that the pressure goes to the helmet, not the brain. If this should happen, the safety lining may crack This means that the helmet has done its’ job in protecting the brain, but it may render the helmet unsafe. Unless you are POSITIVE that the helmet you are considering has not been dropped, or stepped on or been involved in a fall, DO NOT USE IT. You can send it back to the manufacturer for an inspection.

Q. Why can't a rider just use a bicycle helmet?

A. Bicycle  helmets are similar to Horseback Riding safety helmets in appearance, but are not subject to the design  specifications and standards that a riding helmet must pass in order to provide adequate protection. The  most noticeable difference between these two types of helmets is the padding inside the helmet. Most  Bicycle helmets have padding to protect the top of the head, and then they are filled in with comfort  foam which offers no protection at all. A true Horseback Riding Helmet offers additional protection to the  back of the head and the sweatband area of the helmet.   Horseback Riding Helmets are tested by the Safety Equipment Institute (SEI) for Chinstrap retention, penetration by a sharp object, and for impact absorption.   These tests are specifically for horseback riding related accidents.   All helmets must meet the American Society of Testing Materials (ASMT) standard  F-1163.95a.
